Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the review and management of the retail store portfolio to ensure profitability, including new, remodel, and closure store BPM reviews and controls.
  • Validate assumptions and benchmark similar formats to ensure reasonableness and fairness, challenging unreasonable assumptions and non-beneficial commercial terms.
  • Develop and implement KPIs for post-review analysis and deep dive variances with BPM and trigger follow-up improvement plans.
  • Review low-performance doors, initiate discussions, and develop improvement plans with OPS and RE, ensuring proper action plans are taken.
  • Plan capex budgets and ensure investments are made in well-deserved areas, controlling capex spending with other functions.
  • Coordinate with global retail finance and local accounting finance teams to lead retail store impairment tests.
  • Develop various financial models to optimize retail profitability.
  • Analyze CS actual business performance, work with business stakeholders to prepare CS P&L forecasts and budgets, and provide insights and best support for business growth.
  • Manage discount/margin planning and store operating overheads planning, validation, challenge, and improvement.
  • Review and analyze CS rolling forecast P&L from different angles, including halo/core, by format, and comp/non-comp.
  • Cross-functional communication with business and other stakeholders.
  • Act as the retail rental cost controller, understanding rental terms and IFRS16 accounting rules, managing actuals to budget and forecast, and finding cost-saving opportunities.
  • Own retail projects controller.
  • Review and control retail business cases and simulate business scenarios.
  • Provide commercial finance angle support and POV for retail-related initiatives.
  • Lead/propose process improvements for retail area x-functional processes.

  • Retail OPS VP, Retail regional & district managers, Retail business planning team, Retail expansion team, Retail operation excellence team, Non-trade procurement team, Global retail finance team, Brand finance.
  • Commercial finance team in other channels and other finance functions.
  • Finance Share Service team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Capabilities:

  • 10+ years of FP&A experience.
  • Consumer goods/Retail experience preferred.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical savvy, strong analytical, and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong accountability and personal integrity.
  • Self-starter/self-motivation.
  • Business acumen.
  • Fluent in English.

Requisite Education:

  • University degree or above.
  • Member of an internationally recognized professional accounting body preferred.
