The Assistant Manager, Indirect Sourcing has responsibility for the development and maintenance of strategic initiatives through the establishment of supplier specifications, measuring conformance and identifying process improvement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Supplier negotiations and integration with business units
- Identification of cost savings opportunities and management of supplier relationships
- Direct management of one or more categories, covering Avient sites across China and South East Asia countries
- Defining, planning and executing Sourcing projects to improve the existing business and set the stage for future growth
- Creating project schedules, assigning key tasks, and partnering with cross-functional teams to execute tasks
- Facilitating supplier selection and negotiating contracts for key Avient and business-unit initiatives
- Leading, developing, implementing and enforcing supplier performance metrics
- Documentation and administration of all supplier contracts, confidentiality agreements, license agreements, purchase order documentation, shipping documentation, and electronic documents required for smooth supply chain execution
- Working with the supplier base to continually identify process improvements and cost reduction opportunities
- Integrating strategic procurement activities with business unit representatives where required
- Reporting category activities to the organization on a regular basis
- Managing overall supplier relationships, including measurement of performance to specifications, negotiations, contracting and process improvement
- Providing analytical and process improvement support to the corporate sourcing group, including data analysis, internal reporting and overall process improvement recommendations
- May supervise Sourcing Specialists/Coordinators
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Business or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience in cross-functional sourcing, budget management, leadership, data management, purchasing, and process improvement
- Leadership experience, including managing direct reports and developing talent
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to multitask and work independently
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with ability to work on a team and lead regular cross-functional team update meetings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as SAP
