Job Summary

The Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in the hotel's financial management, reporting directly to the Corporate Finance Department and serving as a member of the hotel's Executive Committee. This dual role requires strong communication and collaboration skills to achieve the hotel's business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance
    • Establish and maintain a comprehensive financial manual to ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
    • Review and approve all contracts and legal agreements entered into by the hotel, ensuring compliance with management agreements and local laws.
    • Ensure strict adherence to all contracts and legal agreements, including management agreements.
  • Reporting and Budgeting
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for the Corporate Office and hotel management, highlighting business trends and deviations from budget.
    • Investigate business trends and deviations to budget and last year, providing recommendations for rectifications and/or improvement to hotel management.
  • Control and Audit
    • Develop and maintain sound internal control systems to protect the hotel's interests.
    • Conduct regular audits and reviews of internal controls to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Capital Projects
    • Ensure all capital expenditures are in line with established spending guidelines and approved budgets.
    • Prepare financial projections, justifications, and other documents for assessment by the Corporate Office and owner.
  • Staffing
    • Recommend and approve the appointment, termination, and salary-related decisions for the Finance Department.
    • Develop and maintain accurate job descriptions for staff within the Finance Department.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Experience
    • At least 5 years of experience as an Assistant Financial Controller or higher in the hospitality industry.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Accounting qualification and knowledge of MS Office software.
    • Good command of communication in English.
