Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking a dedicated Storage & Backup Administrator to manage and maintain our data center’s storage and backup systems. The ideal candidate will ensure the availability, reliability, and security of our data by handling the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of storage solutions and backup systems. This role is crucial for protecting data from loss and corruption while maintaining efficient and effective data management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Storage System Management: Administer and configure data center storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and DAS, ensuring optimal performance and capacity utilization. Backup System Administration: Oversee the setup and management of backup software and hardware, defining backup policies and procedures. Data Protection Strategies: Develop and implement data protection strategies that prevent data loss and ensure quick recovery. Monitoring and Alerts: Continuously monitor storage and backup systems for performance, capacity, and integrity, setting up alerts for proactive issue resolution. Disaster Recovery Planning: Contribute to the development and testing of disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of a catastrophic event. Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced technical support for storage and backup systems, diagnosing and resolving issues in a timely manner. Capacity Planning: Analyze storage usage and trends to predict future requirements, ensuring sufficient capacity and performance. Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of storage configurations, backup policies, and recovery procedures. Compliance and Security: Ensure storage and backup systems comply with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards. Vendor Management: Collaborate with storage and backup solution vendors for product support, maintenance, and upgrades. Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with IT teams, including system administrators and network engineers, to integrate storage and backup solutions with other IT systems, to provide technical support and guidance to other departments regarding data storage and backup needs.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience : 3+ years of experience in storage and backup administration or a related role. Certifications : Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Storage+, Dell EMC, or NetApp Certified Storage Administrator are a plus.SKILLS :
Proficiency in managing storage solutions (SAN, NAS, DAS) and backup technologies. Experience with enterprise-level storage and backup systems, 500~1000+TB size. Experience with backup software and tools (, Veeam, Veritas, Commvault). Experience with tiering storage technology for hot and cold data management (, Komprise) Strong understanding of data security, encryption, and compliance practices. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex storage and backup issues. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
