Job Summary:

Provide legal counsel and guidance to the organization on all legal matters across the Asia-Pacific region; supervise and coordinate work of outside attorneys and consult with them on sensitive legal issues; develop and manage budgets and supervise financial management of the Legal department.

Specific responsibilities include:

Primarily responsible for legal issues relating to PRC and Hong Kong, managing legal issues for the rest of the APAC region with outside counsel assistance where requiredOversee drafting and negotiation of contracts, including PRC and APAC-based vendor agreements, customer issues, and other agreements such as service provider, software licensing, and non-disclosure agreements.Responsible for strategizing, managing, directing, and providing comprehensive, analytical, and responsive legal expertise to company personnelWork collaboratively with other members of the Legal department including on issues with scope outside the APAC regionSupport the implementation of policies and procedures necessary to ensure compliance with applicable laws.Support the Company’s Affirmative Action initiatives, providing equal opportunity to employees and candidates.Manage the use of outside counsel to ensure effectiveness and cost efficiency.Respond to ad hoc legal questions raised by internal departments.Understand and follow company rules and regulations.Perform all other duties as assigned and required.

Core Competencies:

Legal Qualifications and Experience: Qualification and experience in commercial legal matters in the PRC are essential. Education and Experience Requirements:

Recognised legal qualification, admission and experience in at least PRCSkill in staff development and performance managementAbility to supervise and coordinate the work of outside counsel and internal staffExcellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and negotiating skillsAbility to draft contracts and legal responsesAbility to provide competent legal advice on a wide range of legal and policy issues related to all aspects product manufacturing and distribution.Ability to supervise investigations, analyze information, and draw conclusionsAbility to develop and implement strategic approaches to resolution of complex or sensitive legal issues
