Regional Lead for Client Relations - Sustainalytics

About the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of Sustainalytics’ growth story. We are looking for an experienced business development professional to lead our business development for Greater China and Korea, primarily focusing on the China onshore market, and to work closely and collaboratively across the Sustainalytics and Morningstar sales and client advisory teams. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with experts across all areas of Sustainalytics and to work with the Sales and Client Relations team globally to grow our market presence. Your clear understanding of our clients and prospects and their business drivers will be the key to success. This role has a strong emphasis on relationship development with clients and prospects and you will be an ambassador for Sustainalytics from early on.

Job Responsibilities

Play a leading role in developing and implementing Sustainalytics business development strategy for Greater China and Korea, primarily focusing on the China onshore market;

• Grow and maintain a robust sales pipeline by:

o Taking ownership of and successfully closing incoming opportunities

o Responding to requests for proposals

o Identifying and developing new opportunities and markets

• Act as a trusted advisor to institutional & retail investors, banks, insurers and corporates on how to apply Responsible Investment strategies and incorporate our products and services;

• Stay on top of market developments, identify and share product innovation opportunities;

• Represent the company at industry events and conferences as well as public speaking engagements;

• Build, maintain and extend professional networks;

• Further develop ESG and investment industry knowledge. Closely collaborating across the Sustainalytics and Morningstar sales and client advisory teams

• We work on regular basis with colleagues in our other APAC offices as well as in Europe and North America. Collaboration with Morningstar Enterprise sales team in China for cross sell opportunities is also common. Therefore, the desire to work very closely with a diverse team from many different cultures is critical to working at Morningstar Sustainalytics.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate needs to be an ambitious team player who can both succeed individually, as well as reaching goals through close collaboration with other team members. The ideal candidate will have:

• Demonstrated passion for sustainability and an alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision and values;

• Minimum of 4-7 years of financial services, responsible investment or sustainability related work experience;

• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the investment industry and the use of ESG research

• Demonstrating strong performance in consultative sales and effectively communicating with senior management in the assigned region. The ability to drive sales in the onshore Chinese market is crucial.

• Degree in related discipline (business, finance, environment and/or social sciences);

• Strong client servicing and commercial skills;

• Proficiency in Mandarin and English (essential), with Cantonese or Korean as a plus;

• Ability to take the initiative and think creatively and proactively;

• A natural story teller, you can understand and present complex products in an engaging way;

• Experiences in sustainable funds and index is a plus;

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint;

• Genuine team player, who operates with a high level of integrity and enjoys working collaboratively.

• 代表公司参加行业事件和会议,进行公开演讲;

• 构建、维护并扩展专业人脉;

• 深入发展 ESG 和投资行业知识。

与 Sustainalytics 和晨星其他业务部门的销售以及客户咨询团队紧密合作

资格要求

• 对可持续发展充满热情,并与 Sustainalytics 的使命、愿景和价值观保持一致;

• 至少 4-7 年金融服务、负责任投资或可持续相关工作经验;

• 具备对投资行业和 ESG 研究的知识和理解;

• 在咨询式销售方面有良好的业绩,并能向所负责地区的高级管理层,能够在中国内地市 场推动销售的能力至关重要;

• 相关学科学士学位(商业、金融、环境和/或社会科学);

• 出色的客户服务和商业技能;

• 精通普通话和英语(必要条件),粤语或韩语是加分项;

• 有主动性,具有创造性和积极的思维能力;

• 叙述自然流畅,您能够生动呈现并解释复杂的产品,引起人们的兴趣;

• 在可持续基金和指数方面的经验是一个加分项;

• 熟练使用 Microsoft Excel、Word、Outlook 和 PowerPoint;
