China Design to Value Leader

With global cost inflation and world ecomnic slowdown, cost of goods recudtion and top line growth will be 2 key competitiveness for all the companies.
PEP globally idenifitied the big opproutnity of Design to Value (DTV) : a systematic fact-based, cross-functional process that enables companies, like our own, to optimize value (inclusive of cost, growth and sustainability), anchored with an understanding of what the consumer values to drive the right product choices.
China will launch DTV as the first phase globally. It will cover all categories, including snack, nutrition, beverage and Bee &Cherry. This role needs to lead cross functions to dig out the opporunitiy and hold others accountable to deliver the growth and saving. He/She will co-work with all leaders, from Ops VP, strategy VP, marketing VP, consumer insight head, sales VP, R&D senrior director, etc. Quaker will be the first sprint to kick off. Therefore this role is under Quaker marketing director.
The role will lead following:
Consumer-Centric E2E Approach: DTV is an E2E process that starts with the consumer , leveraging diverse insights (consumer, competitor, etc.) to guide choices regarding our new and existing products, ingredients and packages to drive Triple Wins. In contrast, traditional cost levers tend to operate within functional silos
Integrated Capability: DTV is stood up as a capability, that seamlessly integrates into strategic planning and AOP processes, whereas traditional cost levers often manifest as standalone initiatives or programs. Whole PepsiCo China system, even China industry, has no one had exerieince of Design To Value. The normal opportunities of COGS saving and sales growth is already covered by GCR normal organization. This role needs to generate new opportunities for growth and COGS saving. It requires this role’s strategy thinking to deal with ambuity, indenpendece to develop strategy and creativity to dig out opportunity beyond year on year productivity.
Embedded Process: In DTV, the process is truly embedded and recurring aimed at delivering sustained value. Traditional cost levers are often episodic and reactive in nature. This role has abundant compexility. It requires to con-joint all cross fruntions’ efforts of both leaders and working team. He or she needs to drive China function leaders and teams to make commitment, take new way of thinking, stretch to deliver all high target. It requires maturity of this role to engage and lead cross functions.
Responsibilities Engage and drive China leadership team as well as function leaders to make commitment in DTV According to DtV sprint agenda and requirements, build new China DTV cross function team and align with cross function leaders to design and clearly define new R&R Sit in business and design new China DTV process guidance and SOP based on Triple Win Focus ‘Growth, Sustainability and Cost’, and make sure it is motivated by business results Build up China cross functional team’s DTV capability overtime –running DtV trainings locally Adopt and complement global digital capabilities along integrated roadmap Prioritize, plan and execute sprints through end-to-end process: gather insights, ideate, validate, execute Coordinate and own decision-making ; ensure data-led alignment around opportunities and trade-offs Resource a combination of dedicated and sprint-specific teams of cross-functional SMEs (including marketing, procurement, R&D, supply chain) Lead insight team to develop local insight analysis methodology and tool PMO for DtV workstreams. – Project planning, coordination with local cross functional teams, Identify and help prioritize local DtV initiatives. Lead DTV workshops with China Category team and Supply Chain team. Represent China, as a key contact window to communicate with global leadership team for all things related with DTV Manage global for DTV capability sharing and report back to global for China progress and help-ask.
