Summary - Role Purpose

The Senior Account Manager is tasked with boosting new and existing business by integrating ANSYS engineering simulation products and solutions into customers' engineering environments and product development processes, ultimately aiding customers in creating new products and enhancing existing ones. The Senior Account Manager has full responsibility for all sales activities, from attracting new customers to maximizing sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within a designated geographical territory or specified accounts. This role involves selling the complete Ansys solution and services directly to end users. A successful Senior Account Manager implements strategies to optimize sales opportunities in each engagement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct sales activities to build and maintain business relationships with current and potential customers, aiming to sustain existing business and generate new opportunities within a specific geographic area, set of named accounts, or product/service line to meet or surpass revenue goals.
  • Deliver sales presentations tailored to align with customers' needs and drive positive business outcomes.
  • Stay informed about the company's latest products/services to support sales efforts effectively.
  • Explore sources for identifying current and potential customers to assess their possibilities.
  • Prepare clear and compelling written proposals/quotations for existing and potential customers.
  • Develop and update account plans for current customers, focusing on profile, share, and value prospects.
  • Coordinate sales activities with marketing, account team, sales management, accounting, legal, and technical services teams globally.
  • Maintain precise sales data and reports within CRM systems.
  • Provide precise and reliable forecasts for new sales and renewal revenues.
  • Utilize trade shows and conventions, arrange training sessions and seminars to enhance new business prospects among current and potential customers.
  • Notify clients about new or enhanced products/services and convey client feedback to the product development team.
  • Act as a resource for Ansys channel partners in a designated area by supporting the sales process for new and existing accounts up to the point of opportunity closure.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree in technical, engineering, business, or a related field with 4+ years of successful experience in technical sales roles OR 8+ years of proven success in technical sales positions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of engineering analysis and technology.
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to synchronize internal and external ecosystems.
  • Proficient in English and the local language of the specific territory.
  • Travel: up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Showcasing familiarity with the company's products/services.
  • Understanding of the particular territory, product line, or customer(s) is advantageous.
  • Capable of presenting to Vice Presidents and C-Level Executives.
