About Our Team

About the Role
Are you interested in a science career away from the bench? If so, we have the perfect job for you as an Associate Scientific Editor on the Cell Reports team at Cell Press. We seek a scientist with experience in any biology discipline who shares our passion for helping scientists publish their best work.

Responsibilities
- Overseeing the peer review and publication process of a growing open-access journal
- Collaborating with a team of scientific editors to develop exciting content across biology
- Establishing effective working relationships with colleagues across Cell Press
- Networking with researchers at conferences and site visits

Requirements
- A Ph.D. or other relevant doctoral degree in any biology discipline
- Postdoctoral experience is a plus
- Broad scientific interests and curiosity; passion for assisting scientists in publishing their best work
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and focus
- Dynamic, results-oriented approach to goals and objectives
- Creativity, willingness to experiment, desire to improve
- Researcher-focused and detail-oriented, with good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both in a team and independently
- Understanding of digital communication, publishing trends, and open-access publishing
