About Our Team
Cell Reports Medicine is a top-tier open access journal at Cell Press, showcasing innovative and influential work in translation and clinical research. We are searching for a skilled and passionate scientist, physician, or clinician to become part of the editorial team at Cell Reports Medicine. About the Role
The Scientific Editor will play a key role in all editorial aspects of the journal. Responsibilities include overseeing submissions, conducting rigorous peer reviews to ensure high-quality content, and establishing global connections with experts to share groundbreaking research findings. This is a full-time editorial position located near our offices in Cambridge MA, USA; London or Oxford, UK; Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Munich, Germany; Beijing, Shanghai, or Shenzhen, China.
Responsibilities
- Recruiting engaging content
- Assessing submitted research articles
- Selecting and collaborating with reviewers
- Interacting with authors throughout the review process and providing exceptional service
- Commissioning and editing review articles, as well as other content
- Creating and editing material for the journal's homepage and social media
- Contributing to journal strategy and fostering connections within the Cell Press network
- Building strong relationships with colleagues and the scientific community
- Representing the journal at conferences and research institutions
- Contributing to growth and innovation projects
Requirements
- PhD or MD in a relevant scientific or clinical field
- Broad scientific interests
- Strong critical thinking abilities
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a diverse team
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
- Established global research networks
- Interest in digital communication and publishing trends
