About the role

Based on detailed application-product expertise and technical excellence, the Product Application Engineer offers thorough technical customer support for Bipolar product portfolio with a specific focus on Power / WBG Products (e.g. SiC). Through the creation of technical collateral, the PAE facilitates design-in activities (at defined customers, market segments, with distribution partners, etc.) and contributes to marketing the Focus Portfolio. This role actively contributes to enhancing the product portfolio's future by identifying key application requirements and trends, as well as validating new products in real-world applications.

What you will do

  • Visit customers to provide technical training and design-in support with a business development mindset.
  • Contribute to reference designs based on application knowledge and customer feedback.
  • Provide customer feedback for the technology roadmap.
  • Produce or modify application notes and articles for publication.
  • Create region-specific demonstrations and marketing-support hardware.
  • Develop a deep technical understanding of our products and datasheet parameters.
  • Support quality with application guidance and circuit analysis, which may require travel.
  • Conduct competitor technical product analysis, such as evaluating and reporting on the in-circuit performance of competitor devices compared to our products (e.g., benchmarking).

What you will need

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, focusing on electronics or physics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with a strong application focus in Power Supplies, Server Power, Solar, and Automotive.
  • A profound technical understanding from the customers' applications to the product features and the product/packaging development process. Must be capable of lab characterization and problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities to collaborate successfully with internal and external stakeholders in a global setting.
  • High self-motivation and willingness to go the extra mile for business growth and success.
  • Ability to work independently while closely collaborating with our China team and international colleagues.
