In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Accountable for the labour and employee relations strategy in Asia
  • Provide strategic advice and day to day practical support on all matters related to employment and labour and employee relations, including but not limited to:
    • disciplinaries, grievances, investigations
    • performance
    • absence
    • Restructuring, redundancies and reorganisations
    • TUPE
    • M&A activity
    • Senior contracts
    • Restrictive covenants
    • Policies & Processes
  • Provide strategic advice and day to day practical support on all matters related to unions and work in partnership with the relevant HR Manager on union relation issues
  • Support change projects across the region
  • Provide legal advice and clear interpretation of HR Policy, Labour Law and Collective Bargaining laws
  • Oversee employment litigation in the region and consult and manage outside legal counsel per governance framework

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Proven labour and employee relations experience in Asia over a significant period in a large multinational / international environment/ matrix organization
  • Sound experience in working & building relationships with unions
  • Experience with project management, change management as well as stakeholder management
  • Fluent Mandarin

It would be a plus if you also possess:

  • Qualification in law
