Strategic Business Analysis Lead

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Strategic Business Analysis Lead, bringing expertise in risk management and analysis to help shape the future of HSBC's Markets & Sec Services IT department.
About the Role:
- Develop and implement effective business analysis strategies to drive strategic projects forward, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, users, and system developers, to define data sources, data models, and detailed business requirements for Traded Risk Systems.
- Leverage expertise in risk concepts, such as Historical Simulation, Value-at-Risk (VaR), Stress VaR, and key regulatory requirements like FRTB, BCBS239, and CRR, to inform analysis and decision-making.
- Design and develop proof-of-concept prototypes to crystallize business rules, processes, and functions, driving innovation and improvement in risk management practices.
- Analyze trade, risk, and reference data to identify scenarios that require attention and prepare comprehensive test packs, ensuring the highest quality in delivery.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently, taking ownership of assigned tasks to ensure ultimate resolution and delivery of high-quality results.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in disciplined approaches to requirements analysis, with a software engineering or computer science background.
- Excellent understanding of derivative products, SWAP, interest rate derivatives, FX, credit, and/or equity businesses, risk concepts, and key regulatory requirements.
- Significant experience in capturing, analyzing, and documenting functional and non-functional requirements, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality results.
- Ability to work within large-scale strategic projects and small-scale tactical projects, with a proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong prototyping or rapid application development skills, with experience in iterative development methodologies.
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, and other relevant tools and technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, concise language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Cultivates a collaborative and cooperative attitude, working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
- Structured worker able to efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
