We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Strategic Corporate Finance Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Origination of Corporate & Structured Finance Transactions: Originate, structure and manage structured finance transactions for corporate customers both onshore and offshore.
  • Maintenance of Active Dialogue with Key Customers: Maintain active dialogue with key customers under coverage and proactively propose financing solutions for their onshore and offshore operations.
  • Proactive Origination of Credit Transactions: Take a proactive role in originating credit transactions independent of the Relationship Manager.
  • End-to-End Transaction Execution: Manage the end-to-end transaction execution including Term Sheet Negotiation, Pitching, Credit Write-up, Credit Approval, Loan Documentation & Drawdown.
  • Complex Financing Deals: Act as a single point of contact for all complex and structured financing deals for our corporate customers.

In addition to deal origination, you will engage in strategic discussions with customers and build a strong advisory pipeline for CMBO/IB colleagues to follow up on.

Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Team Management: Manage a team of analysts to deliver credit solutions to our customers and assist in the origination, structuring and execution of structured finance transactions.
  • Training and Development: Train a team of credit analysts to deliver best-in-class solutions for our customers, improve credit standards and manage the credit risk associated with these transactions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with a broad set of internal and external stakeholders (clients, business association, compliance, legal, risk) to deliver at pace and challenge the status quo.
Risk Management Responsibilities:
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Take the lead in building deep subject matter expertise in at least one product or sector, including an understanding of the regulatory landscape, shifting business needs and future business opportunities and risks.
  • Market Trends and Customer Needs: Proactively engage with WCRM on latest market trends and customer needs.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Sophisticated understanding of financial and commercial drivers key to strategic decision-making.
  • Sophisticated understanding of transaction structuring and execution.
  • Sophisticated understanding of corporate and structured credit.
  • Strong appreciation of all areas of risk management and processes.
  • Awareness of the changing economic, social and regulatory environment.
Experience and Skills:

You should have:

  • A proven track record in a client-focused environment, especially in business origination.
  • A proven track record in pushing the boundaries in terms of credit solutions/credit appetite and sectors explored.
  • Experience and relationships in the local PE/VC/FS environment in China.
  • Experience of leading directly or indirectly a diverse team to deliver solutions to customers.
  • Proven experience in identifying and managing the risks, issues and dependencies related to complex projects.

Estimated salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum.
