Job Summary

The Director of Finance will serve as the property's strategic financial business leader, championing, developing, and implementing property-wide strategies to deliver products and services that meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand's target customer and property employees. This role will provide financial expertise to enable the successful implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives while maximizing return on investment.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have a 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 2 years of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area. Alternatively, a Master's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major with no work experience is also acceptable.

Core Work Activities

Engaging in Strategic Planning and Decision Making

The Director of Finance will develop means to improve profit, including estimating cost and benefit, exploring new business opportunities, and analyzing information to forecast sales against expenses and create annual budget plans.

Leading Finance & Accounting Teams

The Director of Finance will utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others, advocating sound financial/business decision making and demonstrating honesty/integrity. This role will also oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.

Anticipating and Delivering on the Needs of Key Stakeholders

The Director of Finance will attend meetings and communicate with owners, understanding priorities and strategic focus. This role will also advise the GM and executive committee on existing and evolving operating/financial issues.

Developing and Maintaining Finance and Accounting Goals

The Director of Finance will ensure profits and losses are documented accurately, monitor all taxes that apply, and submit reports in a timely manner. This role will also develop and support achievement of performance goals, budget goals, team goals, and improve profit growth in operating departments.

Managing Projects and Policies

The Director of Finance will generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, and reconcile balance sheets to ensure account balances are supported by appropriate documentation. This role will also ensure compliance with management contract and reporting requirements.

Managing and Conducting Human Resource Activities

The Director of Finance will ensure team members are cross-trained to support successful daily operations, ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently, and conduct performance review process for employees.
