About the Role

HSBC is seeking an experienced professional to drive the implementation of AI technologies across all value streams in WPB technology. As Director of Enterprise AI Solutions, you will work closely with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure successful AI implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery and management of AI solutions, including software development, testing, and operational support activities
  • Identify and develop appropriate AI solutions to meet customer needs in alignment with the Customer Journey
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to shape the direction of AI products and services
  • Establish a digital environment and automate processes to ensure consistent, high-quality code and data
  • Develop and execute technical test plans, including unit and integration tests, to ensure code quality
  • Provide support to DevOps teams at every stage of product release/change, prioritizing customer satisfaction and end-to-end journeys
  • Work with Ops, Dev, and Test Engineers to identify and address operational issues related to AI implementation
  • Contribute to the identification and resolution of incidents associated with the IT service, as directed by the DevOps team leadership
  • Ensure service resilience, sustainability, and adherence to recovery time objectives for all software solutions delivered
  • Drive the automation of the continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Stay up-to-date on current tools, technologies, and industry regulations, particularly in areas like cyber security and data privacy

Requirements

  • Strong technical expertise, including full-stack software engineering capabilities (front-end, middleware, backend)
  • Hands-on experience in state-of-the-art technologies and a proven track record of contributions to academic, industrial, or open source communities
  • Familiarity with the financial services industry, especially in areas like retail, wholesale and investment banking, wealth management, and insurance
  • Ability to read and comprehend the latest academic and research papers in banking, financial services, and related technologies
  • Excellent analytical, design, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to deliver effective presentations to teammates and stakeholders
  • Commitment to assigned tasks, attention to detail, and willingness to dedicate efforts to achieve desired outcomes
  • Experience working in a DevOps-focused environment and within Agile teams, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements and responsibilities
  • Ability to work across multiple domains of knowledge and skills, sharing knowledge and digging deep into concepts
  • Knowledge of architecture disciplines and the ability to put governance into practice, with familiarity with industry standards as an advantage

Functional/Technical Knowledge:

  • Showcase a proven track record of successfully implementing strategic transformation initiatives.
  • Possess extensive hands-on experience in solutions architecture and engineering for complex enterprise solutions.
  • Demonstrate involvement in Large Language Modelling (GPT / Llama / Bard) Transformation projects, exceeding one year duration.
  • Exhibit a deep understanding of micro-service design and containerization.
  • Deliver scalable solutions in the finance industry, drawing on strong industry expertise.
  • Display familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, and Ali Cloud, with hands-on experience on at least one platform.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multiple programming languages, such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++, and a comprehensive understanding of relevant Design Patterns and databases (relational and NoSQL).
  • Possess the capability to effectively use and extend common open frameworks like Spring, Tensor Flow, Ethereum, etc.
  • Show the ability to rapidly build and set up Proof of Concept (PoC) environments using Cloud, Container, and other relevant technologies.
  • Accumulate over 15 years of professional experience following the completion of a bachelor's degree.
