Job Overview:
Our team is responsible for monitoring and maintaining safety in the workplace. This includes the application and communication of health, safety, and hazardous material standards, procedures, and practices consistent with TE, environmental, and government regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead Continuous Learning and People Development
- Plan and deliver EHS training to create the competencies needed to deliver the EHS program.
- Support and guide employees to enable them to work safely, comply with regulations, TE policies, and specifications, and support environmental sustainability goals.
- Maintain current knowledge of EHS through continuous learning, which should include training and experiential learning.
- Continuous Process Improvement
- Participate in EHS inspections and audits.
- Facilitate incident investigations and advise management on appropriate corrective actions.
- Support and guide the management and direction of EHS programs.
- Participate in risk assessments, advising risk assessment teams on the assessment process; quantification of risks; prioritizing risks for action, and effective risk control measures.
- Use managerial courage, technical knowledge, motivation, and influencing principles to ensure TE EHS values, standards, and behaviors are maintained.
- Drive process improvements that result in EHS performance improvements.
- Establish & Track Metrics/KPI's
- Integrate reporting into existing business reporting systems to ensure employees, EHS teams, town hall meetings, etc. are informed of EHS performance, incidents, programs, and initiatives.
- EHS Structure & Program Management
- Build action plans for the implementation of the organization's EHS programs and take a leadership role in delivering the organization's EHS goals and strategy.
- Communicate with all levels in the organization on EHS to engage with, influence, and motivate the Plant Manager, managers, supervisors, and employees. Drive EHS initiatives to achieve the organization's goals and strategy.
- Strategy & Program Development
- For this role, strategy means the creation of the EHS organization, programs, resources, and management system that drive TE's overall EHS strategy and values within the employee's area of responsibility. Execution of the strategy will be through both individual and delegated tasks and programs within the organization.
- Develop, plan, implement, and maintain an EHS management system for the organization that meets the TE Safety Assessment for Effectiveness (SAFE) requirements, implements TE environmental sustainability programs, ensures compliance with all relevant regulations, TE policies, and TE specifications, and provides for continuous improvement in EH&S performance.
- Partner with TEOA leaders in the organization to integrate EHS into TEOA processes.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of EH&S experience required
- Minimum 2+ years of experience managing EH&S. Preferably at a site level.
- Experience in a technical, engineering, or manufacturing role preferred
- Strong demonstrated communication, negotiation, influencing, collaboration, and team building skills preferred
- Demonstrated ability in conducting audits and inspections of all aspects of EHS throughout a Site
Estimated Salary:$115,000 - $140,000 per year, based on location and experience.
