About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Legal Director to join our team in APAC. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in providing legal support to our business operations in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Strategic Legal Support: Collaborate with our business teams to identify and mitigate legal risks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Lead Contract Negotiations: Develop, maintain, and update contract templates to support our business operations, driving continuous process improvements.
  • Manage Regulatory Compliance: Ensure our business operations in APAC are compliant with relevant regulatory requirements, including quality, privacy, and data protection laws.
  • Lead Government Interactions: Effectively manage governmental interactions, licenses, investigations, disputes, and legal proceedings in the region.
  • Collaborate with Global Teams: Work closely with our global legal teams to drive implementation and adoption of project outcomes, ensuring consistency and best practices.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Foster strong working relationships with business partners at all levels, collaborating effectively within the legal department and the company.
  • Lead Legal Awareness Training: Design and deliver legal awareness training to assigned business units and functions, ensuring a culture of compliance and risk management.
  • Support Corporate Governance: Provide proactive legal support to assigned projects and initiatives, including corporate governance projects and employment matters.
Requirements
  • Admitted to Practice Law: Admitted to practice law with a bachelor's degree in law or above from a reputable law school.
  • Minimum 10 Years Counsel Experience: Minimum 10 years counsel experience, with at least 5 years in-house counsel experience with a multinational corporation.
  • Strong Understanding of Legal Matters: Demonstrated strong understanding of legal matters, business operations, and critical decision-making.
  • Impressive Skills: Impressive skills in organization and analysis, providing meticulous attention to detail and a focus on problem-solving.
  • Mature Personality: Mature personality with high integrity, self-motivation, and dynamic interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Team Leader: Strong team leader and player with a willingness to take responsibility.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin is a must.
