About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Category Associate to join our Casegoods team at Wayfair. As a Category Associate, you will play a critical role in driving revenue and profit growth opportunities for the category and for specific supplier partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build Strong Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers to secure best pricing and promotional support.
  • Strategic Analysis: Analyze data to identify revenue and profit growth opportunities for the category and for specific supplier partners.
  • Catalog Expansion: Advance catalog expansion and develop relationships with target suppliers to drive business growth.
  • Collaboration and Innovation: Identify sales, merchandising, and operational opportunities for the category and collaborate with internal teams to drive change.
  • Competitor Analysis: Analyze and anticipate competitor marketing, selection, and pricing strategy to stay ahead in the market.
  • Trade Show and Supplier Meetings: Attend trade shows and/or travel to meet key suppliers to build relationships and drive business growth.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years experience in ecommerce, sourcing, or supply-side sales is preferred.
  • Language Skills: Good level of English, reading/writing English fluency is required, high verbal fluency is preferred but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent Excel and PowerPoint expertise; readiness to work with data using Excel, SQL, Tableau and other tools.
  • Communication Skills: Articulate and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Negotiation and Relationship Management: A track record of successful negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Innovative problem-solving skills; a demonstrated ability to dissect and determine root causes of problems and implement solutions.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: A structured, proactive approach to your work, eager to progress professionally and motivated to drive business growth; proven ability to thrive as part of a team and also to work autonomously.
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Demonstrated ability to work within a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
