About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Associate Director of Commercial Strategy to join our team at Mutares. As a key member of our organization, you will play a lead role in managing our invested portfolio companies, driving business growth, and implementing strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of our portfolio companies to identify areas of improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Initiative Implementation: Collaborate with local teams to implement targeted improvements, track progress, and provide risk analysis and mitigation.
  • Strategic Setup: Develop an overarching strategy for our portfolio companies to identify potential synergies and drive business growth.
  • Operational Due Diligence: Support our M&A team in due diligence and identify improvement potentials to structure the deal case.
  • Team Development: Provide mentorship to junior team members and contribute to the development of our team.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced professional with a strong background in commercial excellence, business analysis, and strategic planning. You should have:

  • At least 7 years of international experience in a commercial excellence role in industry or consulting.
  • Master's studies in economics, finance, engineering, marketing, or a similar field with outstanding results.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams in complex situations.
  • A structured and pragmatic approach to solving problems and driving impact.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken), with another European language being a plus.
  • Ability to travel 4 days per week (typically Monday to Thursday).
