Job Purpose and Responsibilities:

The Senior Garment Development Specialist will be responsible for collaborating with internal and external teams to achieve business goals and relevant KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Design, Suppliers, and LO/OC teams to drive the end-to-end development process till Buy Ready.
  • Ensure product design aligns with target FOB and GIM targets are achieved by conducting predictive cost analysis, validating, and approving T1 costing sheets in compliance with adidas costing standards, negotiating with T1, and providing smart cost-saving solutions where needed.
  • Lead the development process to ensure on-time prototypes/3D samples are created, delivering desired design intent, aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability.
  • Evaluate all prototypes in compliance with AD and workmanship standards, evaluate 3D samples in compliance with 3D assert quality standards.
  • Manage systems (FlexPLM/Creation Portal) to ensure accurate product information is delivered to T1, as well as accurate data is entered by T1, including BOM, costing, or other data as required.
  • Ensure all materials and prototypes adhere to adidas quality, safety, and A01 standards. Manage quality exceptions with senior management as needed prior to Buy Ready.
  • Continuously research market innovations and stay current on manufacturing innovations to translate them into product creation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Deep knowledge of garment development, testing requirements, technique expertise, and material construction.
  • Effective communication, influence, and fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong IT skills (MS Office and Adobe Illustrator) and ability to work with Product Data Management Systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of virtual creation/3D CLO or equivalent 3D software. Strong visual skills and ability to transfer design ideas into digital files for factory production.

Requisite Education and Experience/Minimum Qualifications:

  • College or University degree in clothing technology and/or manufacturing or comparable education.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in the garment/textile industry.
