Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Pattern Leader to drive the end-to-end pattern creation process for both 2D and 3D garment development at adidas. This role requires strong collaboration with internal and external teams to achieve business goals and relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

About the Role

The successful candidate will lead and drive the Basic Pattern/3D template selection process, understanding future business needs to determine future basic pattern requirements. They will provide pattern solutions on an ongoing basis to optimize fit of the garment, driving both physical fitting and virtual fitting by using new methods and systems and/or new constructions.

In addition, they will create virtual prototypes to increase speed and efficiency of the product creation process, maintain information in the product creation system, and ensure that new patterns are wear-tested as needed.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop basic and model patterns, driving the pattern creation of fit-critical model patterns in cooperation with cross-functional partners based on market requirements.
  • Lead and drive the Basic Pattern/3D template selection process, understanding future business needs to determine future basic pattern requirements.
  • Provide pattern solutions on an ongoing basis to optimize fit of the garment, driving both physical fitting and virtual fitting by using new methods and systems and/or new constructions.
  • Create virtual prototypes to increase speed and efficiency of the product creation process.
  • Maintain information in the product creation system and ensure that new patterns are wear-tested as needed.
  • Evaluate and implement standard grading rules to ensure consistency in fit and contribute actively in terms of fit/principle pattern guidelines.
  • Collaborate with all global pattern teams to consolidate basic patterns across all Business Units, ensuring aligned needs of all Creative Centers/Brands, and act as a contact for all basic pattern directions and application usage for assigned categories.
  • Consult and train Marketing, Design, Product Developer on pattern and fit updates and issue resolution.
  • Develop and communicate training plans and manuals for the global pattern, Product Development teams, Sourcing team, and Technical Inspectors (T1s), including how to measure manual and seasonal Fit Classification manual.
  • Support Digital Pattern projects, including tool development and smart solutions to enable digital end-to-end creation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge in pattern creation and grading with the ability to provide effective and cost-efficient pattern solutions and an understanding of apparel construction, material construction, and properties related to fit.
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate designs on model level regarding pattern execution/engineering.
  • Confident in all aspects of production, garment construction, and manufacturing.
  • Strong team player/communicator with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects under multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively present information and trainings in one-on-one and large group situations to vendors, designers, and other employees of the organization.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in Gerber or similar CAD programs.
  • Advanced knowledge in V-Stitcher, Clo 3D, or similar 3D programs.
  • Advanced IT skills (Illustrator, MS Office).
  • Ability to travel, domestic or international, as required.
Salary

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience.
