The Assistant Manager of Accounting Operations plays a crucial role in supporting the APAC GL Accounting Manager as part of the Global Accounting Services (GAS) team. This position requires collaboration with local accounting teams across various regions, fostering productive and professional relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and review the work of GL accountants.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in prioritizing multiple complex tasks in dynamic environments.
  • Ensure timely completion of projects with a focus on quality.
  • Assist with Internal and External Audit processes.

50% Accounting and Analysis:

  • Engage in monthly closing activities.
  • Support the management of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Review work papers, account analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial statements for designated legal entities.
  • Post monthly adjusting journal entries and assess accruals and reserves.
  • Conduct analytical reviews of departmental expenses, including trend and budget comparisons.
  • Provide information on inquiries related to departmental expenses.
  • Facilitate external audits for both US GAAP and Stat GAAP compliance.
  • Support SOX compliance initiatives.

25% Reporting and Analysis:

  • Propose and implement process enhancements through comprehensive analysis and teamwork.
  • Familiarize with various accounting reservation policies.
  • Create special reports and conduct ad-hoc analyses as needed.

25% Additional Responsibilities:

  • Train and mentor accounting staff in procedures and the Oracle ERP system.
  • Collaborate with business departments to optimize processes and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with IT and other departments for ongoing process improvements.
  • Lead or participate in ad hoc projects related to finance and accounting.
