Job Description

We are seeking an experienced GMA Project Specialist to join our team as an International Certifications Coordinator. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating and administering multiple country mark or approval projects on behalf of our customers.

Your primary function will involve coordinating between CSA Operations staff, international partners, foreign regulators, and customers to accomplish project objectives. You will respond to customer inquiries on foreign certification and related technical and regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will also plan, direct, and coordinate designated GMA projects, ensuring that goals meet customer needs and are accomplished within the prescribed time frame, funding parameters, and regulatory requirements. Your activities will include:

  • Identifying project scope and estimated cost, lead time, and applicable foreign government procedure;
  • Identifying applicable safety standards for foreign approval;
  • Identifying regulatory codes and laws for foreign approval;
  • Providing engineering inputs to testing facilities for product testing (specifying tests to be performed);
  • Arranging alternative testing services with international partners and other organizations when necessary;
  • Customizing engineering projects/reports to meet foreign requirements;
  • Assigning project tasks to certification engineers for review of non-CSA test reports, including additional testing of client products;
  • Reviewing engineering reports for completeness;
  • Ensuring all applicable forms are completed properly;
  • Ensuring project cost and obligations are met.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent 5+ years' experience in compliance industry;
  • 5 years' industry experience and preferably 2+ years' experience with CENELEC, IEC, or IEC-based standards;
  • PMP certification preferred;
  • Bilingualism preferred;
  • Knowledge of CSA Group programs and services;
  • Mentoring skills;
  • Computer proficiency (word processing and Microsoft Office suites); keyboarding;
  • Strong problem-solving ability; detail-oriented;
  • Able to work independently;
  • High level of communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Excellent listening and retention skills;
  • Ability to initiate and develop new customer contacts;
  • Responsive and pleasant when dealing with external and internal customers, peers, and co-workers;
  • Flexible in schedule and time management;
  • Strong organization, creativity, and project management skills to plan for projects, events, and conferences;
  • Problem resolution skills, to deliver high-quality and timely services.
