Position Summary:

The Engineering Project Management Teams at TE Connectivity oversee cross-functional engineering initiatives. These teams collaborate with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other departments to ensure that projects align with financial, scheduling, and customer satisfaction goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Take full ownership of New Product Development (NPD) projects, utilizing a variety of project management techniques to ensure timely, budget-conscious, and quality-compliant project completion.
  2. Develop project plans and schedules, including Critical Path Planning (CPP), through close collaboration with all relevant departments and team members. Define milestones, assess risks of delays, and implement strategies to mitigate their impact on the timeline.
  3. Conduct regular project status evaluations and identify opportunities to recover lost time, ensuring team members are on track with their tasks.
  4. Manage project budgets and product cost plans, simulating costs associated with parts and tooling early in the project phase, while maintaining a clear understanding of the project's Profit and Loss (P&L) throughout all project gates.
  5. Provide timely updates on schedule adjustments and communicate changes to team members frequently. Deliver detailed reports, including statistical analyses and recommendations, to the Project Approval Committee (PAC) in accordance with the project gate plan.
  6. Organize and manage customer requirements by evaluating marketing data, conducting interviews, and compiling Product Requirement Documents (PRD) to ensure alignment with design objectives.
  7. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and support ongoing projects, management, and colleagues as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical/electrical design and/or manufacturing in a project management capacity, preferably within a multinational organization.
  • Practical experience in applying project management methodologies; PMP certification is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership qualities and a proactive approach to driving and managing projects.
  • Solid understanding of product cost simulation and P&L management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capability to foresee potential issues and resolve them proactively.
  • Familiarity with interconnectivity products is a plus.
  • Understanding of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Able to thrive in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project.
