Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced Indirect Sourcing Category Manager to join our team at Avient. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our indirect sourcing activities.


About the Role


This is a senior-level position that requires a deep understanding of sourcing strategies, category management, and supplier relationships. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of driving cost savings, improving quality, and enhancing supply chain performance.


Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our indirect sourcing activities.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts with key suppliers to ensure optimal pricing and service levels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
  • Monitor and report on supplier performance metrics, including delivery times, quality, and costs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure their continued support and cooperation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in sourcing and category management.

Requirements



  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of driving cost savings, improving quality, and enhancing supply chain performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
