Overview



The Technical Development and Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the development of customer solutions and technology in Asia. This role focuses on transforming R&D projects into tangible customer projects, acting as the main technical contact for key customers, and driving engagement to understand customer needs and market requirements.



Key Responsibilities




  • Manage TDE activities in Asia for A&IP business, ensuring alignment with global TDE responsibilities.
  • Introduce new products and value-adding services, tracking progress from customers and the plant side.
  • Lead CVI projects, reporting commercial progress and influencing project advancement with R&D and Operation teams.
  • Oversee strategic agenda projects, including sustainability initiatives.
  • Manage onsite support and product continuous improvement projects.
  • Serve as a technical interface with mid-senior technical leaders from customers to support sales and marketing events.


Requirements




  • An advanced degree (preferably PhD) in Materials Science or Metallurgical Engineering from a reputable university.
  • A strong engineering background in Aerospace industry is beneficial.
  • Experience in people management will be an asset.
  • Proficiency in English, with ability to work in a global environment.
  • Capacity to continuously learn and adapt under diverse circumstances.
  • Demonstration of energy, self-driven enthusiasm, and ability to build lasting relationships with stakeholders.
  • Effective teamwork skills for delivering shared goals.
  • Ability to up-grade skills, acquire knowledge, broaden perspectives, and build experiences.
  • Adaptability to changes.
  • Scope out plans, execute them, set priorities, and accomplish tasks and projects.
  • Deliver results with quality, time-bound, and cost-effective manner.


Location



Novelis Shanghai office is situated in Caohejing High-tech Park, Minhang District.



Based on industry standards and regional costs, we estimate this position's salary range to be approximately $120,000 - $180,000 per year.
