Senior Risk Engineer

Zurich Resilience Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Engineer to support our global customers in China and Asia, as well as local customers, with high hazard property, fire protection, chemical/petrochemical, and general liability experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess complex risks and loss potentials in accordance with agreed definitions, providing high-quality support to our Underwriters.
  • Identify and reduce individual and overall account risks for our customers, providing risk improvement advice, conducting loss investigations, and implementing risk improvement programs.
  • Share technical expertise with colleagues, business partners, and customers through training delivery or participation in a Centre of Expertise or industry segment, maintaining and developing relationships with customers, brokers, and underwriters.
Performance Management Accountabilities:
  • Model behaviors that demonstrate commitment to corporate values.
  • Coach and provide technical advice and counsel within and outside operating units.
  • Provide guidance and support for team members.
  • Take action to manage own personal development and encourage others to do the same.
  • Keep motivation for continuous learning.
  • Assist the growth of our business in terms of customers and revenue.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Fluent English.
  • Chemical Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Fire Science, or related degree.
  • Property manufacturing / high hazard risk assessment experience.
  • Property loss control / risk engineering experience within the insurance industry.
  • Petrochemical / chemical loss control / risk engineering experience.
  • Business interruption risk assessment skills and experience.
  • Fire protection expertise.
  • Strong communication and consultative skills.
  • Outstanding collaborative skills.
  • High degree of proficiency related to PC and Software or systems.
