We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Corning. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative solutions to improve our manufacturing processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead equipment continuous improvement to enhance process capability and maintain stability and consistency of production.
- Develop new technologies and improvements that drive market leadership and achieve Corning's low-cost/high-quality strategy.
- Design, specify, install, and debug new equipment or modify existing equipment to improve system reliability and lower maintenance costs.
- Provide analytical and problem-solving support to manufacturing teams to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Establish and update system procedures as needed and ensure all procedures are properly written and followed.
- Project management leadership of projects with intermediate scope, including project planning, resource allocation, and spending control.
- BS/MS degree or above in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in a Mechanical Engineer role, with a strong background in automation design and project management.
- Ability to independently create 2D and 3D drawings and have a good command of MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ANSYS Workbench.
- Rich experience in automation design, with successful applications in factory or market settings.
- Fundamental understanding of common mechanical mechanisms, including motion mechanism design, fluid, motor, pump, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles, dimension chain analysis, parts selection, and cost reduction techniques.
- Experience in process capability improvement with process/control engineers and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
- Project management experience and understanding of equipment mechanical operations and control.
- Understanding of DMAIC, Lean, and Six-Sigma methods and tools.
- Good oral and written communication skills, including in English.
- Familiarity with electrical knowledge, including PLC, Servo motor, VFD, and Relay.
