Job Description

At International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), we are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Senior Research Scientist to join our Global Functional Ingredients R&D team in the Greater Asia region. As a key member of our hydrocolloid research and development team, you will play a crucial role in translating market needs into technical solutions through close customer engagement, scientific disciplines, and product discoveries across functions.

Key Responsibilities

* Be the subject matter expert in hydrocolloids for application experts within the Greater Asia region

* Provide internal scientific support by developing customer solutions with local application experts and proactively working with sales and application to screen new molecules to stay ahead of competitors

* Offer external scientific support by interacting with customers, providing technical guidance on IFF's hydrocolloids, and addressing their technical challenges

* Engage in R&D projects as a technical contributor or lead, applying in-depth expertise and scientific principles to successfully accomplish project goals

* Build strong collaborations with local application experts, sales, and business partners within the Greater Asia region and with R&D peers globally

Requirements

* PhD in Chemistry or Food Technology with at least 3 years of experience in a relevant industry

* Proven track record in a related role, demonstrating mastery of responsibilities and successful completion of projects and/or technology implementation(s)

* Experience with hydrocolloids used in the food and beverage industry

* Familiarity with physio-chemical characterization of hydrocolloids such as rheology is an advantage

* Proficiency in written and spoken English is required

About the Role

This role offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits that include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.
