Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our team at the China Innovation Center of Roche (CICoR). This role will involve collaborating with research scientists and data experts on drug projects from target identification to lead discovery and early development.

About the Position

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Cheminformatics, or a related discipline, along with 5+ years of industry experience or 3+ years in industry plus 2+ years academic post-doc experience. The successful applicant will possess strong communication skills, a solid working knowledge of drug discovery principles, and a track record of scientific contributions in CADD illustrated by publications and/or patents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply computational chemistry techniques to advance small-molecule drug discovery programs.
  • Contribute to compound design and optimization from molecular modeling and data analysis viewpoints.
  • Help with new target assessment through druggability, selectivity, and/or tool compound analysis.
  • Develop and implement testable hypotheses to formulate compound design strategies.
  • Cultivate expertise in AI/ML approaches, including model building and statistical analysis.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Cheminformatics, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of industry experience or 3+ years in industry plus 2+ years academic post-doc experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of drug discovery principles.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate clear scientific hypotheses.
  • Track record of scientific contributions in CADD.
Compensation and Benefits
