Job Title: Assistant Equipment Manager

At Remote People, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Equipment Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing our container assets, ensuring efficient operations, and driving cost savings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with container rental companies to acquire new contracts and optimize our container fleet.
  • Work with agents to develop import plans that reduce empty repository costs and improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Manage idling container assets, including damage, sale, and off-hire, to minimize operating costs.
  • Approve and segregate units by grade, upgrade units as required, and prepare MR collection/recovery reports.
  • Meet departmental and organizational goals, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Liaise with FLOs, depots, and leasing companies to resolve pending MR approvals, damage reefers, and disputes.
  • Ensure depots adhere to KPIs for inspection, repair cycles, and other key performance indicators.
  • Conduct regular audits with depots to ensure internal KPIs and repair standards are met.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the same field.
  • Graduate from the shipping industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Fluent in English.
