The Associate Medical Director/Medical Director of Neuroscience will provide medical support and advice for clinical trials and safety evaluation within the PPD Pharmacovigilance department. This role can be office-based or home-based.

A day in the life of this role includes:

  • Providing study, project, and program-specific medical monitoring and review services, including leading all medical aspects of contracted tasks and supervising safety variables.
  • Discussing medical issues with clients, investigators, and healthcare professionals using accurate medical judgment, interpretation, and decision.
  • Providing medical consultation to team members and answering study-related medical questions.
  • Analysis and assessment of safety data to identify emerging safety signals.
  • Medical review of individual case safety reports, serious adverse event reports, and clinical outcome reports.
  • Assisting in Business Development activities.
  • Presenting PPD standard medical safety processes to clients at business development meetings and connecting with various medical communities to explore and expand PPD business.
  • Participating in training of project teams.
  • Providing therapeutic and protocol training as needed.

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • MD, MB/BS, or equivalent degree and strong medical knowledge, validated clinical experience handling Oncology or Neuroscience patients in hospital practice.
  • Significant experience within the pharmaceutical industry, clinical trials, or pharmaceutical medicine is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory guidelines for adverse event reporting.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
