Senior Program Manager, Global Transportation Operations

The ROW Transportation Execution team is seeking a Senior Program Manager to spearhead the identification, development, integration, and support of innovative solutions while overseeing transportation initiatives from inception to completion across various regions.
Amazon's transportation infrastructure is pivotal in orchestrating the delivery of millions of packages globally, encompassing every phase from checkout to shipment tracking and final delivery. Our systems team is responsible for the inputs that govern services handling thousands of requests per second, making business decisions that influence billions of dollars annually, collaborating with a diverse network of carriers, and maintaining business rules for millions of unique products. This effort is crucial in enhancing the experience for online shoppers while optimizing the network to minimize costs.
As we expand into new markets and innovate within our supply chain and delivery models, we face an increasingly intricate transportation network, a growing selection of products, and an escalating volume of shipments worldwide. Key Responsibilities- Oversee the complete lifecycle of large-scale, cross-functional programs with significant impact across multiple organizations.
- Formulate the overall program strategy, tactically guiding teams both within and outside your organization to achieve objectives.
- Define the program's mission, vision, and tenets; establish objectives, analyze data, and drive measurable improvements.
- Operate independently in ambiguous environments, striving to comprehend business challenges, automation constraints, scaling factors, and the rationale behind leadership decisions.
- Collaborate with teams across the business and beyond to source, allocate, and coordinate necessary resources.
- Address ambiguous challenges and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Engage with program managers and business leaders to communicate and influence critical business initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and govern KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs, ensuring visibility into milestones and performance across all projects.
- Collaborate with global technology teams to present and implement enhancements that enable new business scenarios and scale existing operations.
- 5+ years of experience in program or project management.
- Proficient in utilizing data and metrics to identify and drive improvements.
- Experience in owning program strategy, overseeing end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
- 2+ years of experience in driving process improvements.
- Master's degree or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or a related field.
