Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Commercial Director to lead our Greater China commercial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership to the team, developing growth targets and strategies, and building a strong and sustainable commercial organization in China.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commercial team to follow company SHE principles and actively engage in company SHE initiatives.
  • Develop an effective network in the Synthomer group to gain necessary supports to achieve business objectives.
  • As a member of the China management team, lead the formulation and execution of business growth strategy in the Chinese market.
  • Develop related market intelligence and actively adopt appropriate responses to market dynamics.
  • Manage sales expenses by operating plan.
  • Manage China commercial operations, including annual sales budget development, frequent sales forecast and sales review, sales opportunity pipeline management.
  • Manage Synthomer China distribution channel, including distribution selection, performance review, distribution channel consolidation and optimization.
  • Steer Synthomer China marketing activities to support growth strategy.
  • Lead the development and implementation of commercial excellence initiatives.
  • Work closely with China marketing to promote and strengthen the Synthomer brand through all marketing activities.
  • Lead the sales team to work closely with finance and supply chain team to effectively manage net working capital (sales collections and inventories).
  • Develop strong working relationships with all major existing and target customers and implement key account management best practice together with sales managers.
  • Work closely with all supporting functions to improve customer satisfaction and improve NPS (Net Promoter Score).
  • Work with technical team (China Innovation Center) to ensure that technical service resource is appropriately allocated in line with business strategy and objectives.
  • Comply with company policies, with particular regard to SHE, QM and Code of Conduct.
  • Other tasks deemed necessary and assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Minimum 10 years in a B2B sales leadership role in China.
  • Hands-on experience in sales management and commercial excellence.
  • Strong leadership in driving commercial team performance.
  • Track record of profitable sales growth.
  • International exposure, ideally gained from working in a foreign-owned company.
  • High level of written and spoken English.

Competency:

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation/communication skills, ability to work effectively at both strategic and tactical levels independently, energetic, results-driven.
  • Ethical with understanding of the Western corporate context.
  • Financially and IT literate.
