Position Overview

As a Product Engineering Specialist, you will play a crucial role in fostering strong partnerships with customer engineering and manufacturing teams within your designated accounts to drive growth initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate essential relationships with customer engineering and manufacturing personnel to support the overall growth strategy.
  • Act as the technical representative for customer materials engineering and paint production teams.
  • Oversee corrective actions to address product performance challenges.
  • Direct product quality assessments utilizing structured problem-solving techniques and communicate findings through the Sales Force platform.
  • Represent the Voice of the Customer to Axalta's Sales, Marketing, Technical, and Manufacturing departments.
  • Spearhead various product initiatives with the assigned customer group.
  • Assist in the launch of new products and facilitate technology transfers across all regions.
  • Provide technical insights to transform product data into effective marketing and sales resources.
  • Deliver both written and oral presentations to clients.
  • Manage APQP documentation related to new product developments and submissions.
  • Support the Product Engineering Manager in aligning customer product approvals with Axalta's strategic objectives.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
  • Proficient in navigating a multicultural work environment.
  • Experience in a global context is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with paint formulation and application methodologies.
  • A minimum of 3-7 years of relevant experience in the automotive and/or coatings sectors, encompassing technical, operational, and commercial roles.
  • Experience in research and development and successfully launching new products is highly desirable.
  • Ability to influence clients and build robust customer relationships.
  • Skilled in managing multiple projects and tasks concurrently while leading cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to comprehend customer requirements and translate them into product solutions.
  • Proficient in IT, computer applications, and data processing, with a strong command of MS Office; experience with information databases is a plus.
  • Essential collaboration and teamwork skills.
