Position Overview

The role of Team Manager for the Institutional Banking Group (IBG) and Risk Management Group (RMG) Audit Portfolio is critical in ensuring the integrity and compliance of our audit processes. This position is designed for a seasoned professional who will oversee the audit team and manage a diverse portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the audit team to ensure high-quality audit deliverables.
  • Keep the Audit Head informed about significant risks, control environments, and regulatory obligations related to the assigned portfolio.
  • Assist in the formulation and upkeep of the comprehensive audit strategy and plan, including risk evaluations of the Business Unit/Service Unit.
  • Supervise the execution and completion of audit assignments, ensuring adherence to departmental and professional standards.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with senior stakeholders and support the Audit Head in regulatory interactions as necessary.
  • Engage in control discussions with relevant business units, including regular management meetings.
  • Contribute to periodic management reporting for the Business Unit/Service Unit, such as Audit Committee reports and monthly auditor updates.
  • Manage team resources effectively to support the execution of the audit plan.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and regular performance evaluations for audit team members.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in business or auditing within a financial institution, external CPA or consulting firms, or internal audit functions of banks.
  • Extensive experience in auditing or project management.
  • Background in financial institution auditing or consultancy is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, CFA, FRM, CISA).
  • Experience in auditing, accounting, or banking roles with leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of the products, operations, and regulatory frameworks associated with corporate banking and credit risk management.
  • Ability to maintain an objective viewpoint.
  • Proficient in establishing effective relationships with business leaders.
  • Excellent conflict resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Strong planning and project management capabilities.
  • Exceptional reporting, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Effective coaching and performance management abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to address complex issues and identify innovative control solutions.
  • Above-average learning aptitude with a commitment to fostering the development of others.
