Formally established in June 2022, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou)(HKUST(GZ)) is a cooperatively-run university between the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. In response to the increasingly complex challenges faced by the rapidly changing world, HKUST(GZ) adopts a brand-new and cross-disciplinary academic structure featuring "Hub" and "Thrust" to substitute the conventional one characterized by "school" and "department", facilitating cross-disciplinary integration while vigorously developing emerging and frontier disciplines. This is a groundbreaking move in the higher education community across the globe.

To further enhance coordination and student support, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Program Officer to assist in the administrative, academic, and student-related matters.

Duties
The appointee will mainly provide administrative support in the AI Thrust at HKUST(GZ). The main duties include but not limited to the followings:
1. Provide administrative assistance for undergraduate teaching activities, including course scheduling, class coordination, communication with faculty and students, and maintaining academic records.
2. Support student affairs and registry-related work, including maintaining student systems, following up on individual cases, and preparing data analysis and reports as required.
3. Assist with events organized by the thrusts, including but not limited to admissions activities, student events, site visits, workshops, and academic seminars.
4. Provide logistical support for daily operation of the thrust and program, including but not limited to the reimbursement, procurement, document preparation, booking, etc;
5. Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall operations of the Thrust.

Qualification Requirements
1. A master's degree or above, with at least one year of work experience;
2. Strong team player with excellent communication skills, high sense of responsibility, confidentiality, and service consciousness;
3. Ability to multitask effectively, strong self-motivation, and meticulous working habits;
4. Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese;
5. Prior experience in internship coordination, external liaison, or higher education administration is a plus;
6. Proficiency in office software with basic skills in data analysis and report writing.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.

This is a Mainland appointment, and the appointee will be offered a contract by HKUST(GZ) entity in accordance with the Mainland labor laws and regulations. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
