The Data Science and Analytics (DSA) Thrust, an academic department under Information Hub, HKUST(GZ), advances data science and analytics by unifying statistics, machine learning, optimization, and their related techniques. We are seeking a Program Officer to support academic coordination, student services, program promotion, and liaison with internal and external stakeholders. The role requires responsibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic academic environment.

02 岗位职责 / Duties
The appointee will mainly support program administration, student activities, and external engagement across the Thrust, including but not limited to:

1. Assist in course scheduling, curriculum planning, and examination administration.
2. Provide student support and guidance, including organizing student activities, assisting with exchange programs, academic and research advising and progress tracking.
3. Support outreach and external liaison, including program promotion and recruitment activities.
4. Provide logistical support for daily operation of the program and the thrust, including but not limited to the reimbursement, procurement, document preparation, booking, etc。
5. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the program and the thrust.

1. 协助课程安排、教学计划及考试安排等学术事务。
2. 为学生提供咨询与支持,包括组织学生活动、协助交流交换、学业及科研指导和进度跟踪等。
3. 组织外联活动,支持宣讲、招生及项目宣传等。
4. 为项目和学域的日常运作提供后勤支持,包括但不限于报销、采购、文书撰写、预订安排等各项工作。
5. 完成主管交办的其他工作,协助项目及学域整体运作。

03 任职要求 / Requirements
1. Master's degree or above, preferably in Education or related fields, with at least one year of work experience.
2. Experience in university administration, student affairs, or academic program management is a plus.
3. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
4. Proficiency in office software; familiarity with university or student information systems is an advantage.
5. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
6. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively in a dynamic academic environment.
7. Strong understanding of educational psychology and student development is desirable.

1. 硕士或以上学历,教育或相关专业优先,具备至少一年工作经验。
2. 具备高校行政管理、学生活动管理或学术项目管理经验者优先。
3. 具有优秀的组织、沟通及人际协调能力。
4. 熟练使用办公软件,熟悉高校或学生信息管理系统者优先。
5. 中英文书面及口语表达能力优秀。
6. 能独立工作,具备多任务处理能力,并能在动态学术环境中有效协作。
7. 对教育心理学及学生发展有较深理解者优先。

05 学校介绍 / About HKUST(GZ)
Formally established in June 2022, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou)(HKUST(GZ)) is a cooperatively-run university between the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. HKUST(GZ) has obtained approval from the Ministry of Education (MoE) and become the first legally-independent educational institution co-established by the Mainland and Hong Kong since the announcement and implementation of the "Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" and the "Overall Plan for Deepening Globally Oriented Comprehensive Co-operation amongst Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in Nansha of Guangzhou". With a spirit of pioneering innovation, HKUST(GZ) charts new territories in cross-disciplinary education and explores new frontiers in pedagogies, aiming to serve as a role model of the mainland-Hong Kong integrated educational development and become a world-famous high-level university, endeavoring to nurture future-oriented, high-level and innovative talents.

In response to the increasingly complex challenges faced by the rapidly changing world, HKUST(GZ) adopts a brand-new and cross-disciplinary academic structure featuring "Hub" and "Thrust" to substitute the conventional one characterized by "school" and "department", facilitating cross-disciplinary integration while vigorously developing emerging and frontier disciplines. This is a groundbreaking move in the higher education community across the globe. HKUST(GZ) comprises four Hubs, namely Function Hub, Information Hub, Systems Hub, Society Hub and 16 thrusts. The admission of undergraduate students begins in 2023, with the first batch of programs covering artificial intelligence, data science and big data technology and smart manufacturing engineering.

HKUST(GZ) is located at No.1 Duxue Road, Qingsheng Hub Cluster, Nansha District, Guangzhou. The campus covers an area of about 1,669 mu hectares) and is divided into two construction phases. The first phase covers an area of about 716 mu (47.7 hectares) with a floorage of about 636,000 square meters (63.6 hectares), which had been officially put into use in September 2022. The design of the campus blends natural scenery with architecture, with key cutting-edge technologies for energy conservation and environmental protection adopted during the design and construction process, in a bid to establish the campus as a new benchmark of green, smart and sustainable development.
