Product Manager, HSBC Life Insurance

The purpose of the role is to plan, develop and manage HSBC insurance products with the objective of contributing to distribution channel/ partner request fulfillment, business target achievement (volume and profitability), risk controable business development sustainability and to enhance the client experience.
The role holder may be located in retail, commercial, business banking, asset management or equity fields.
The role holder may not have direct reports but may be supported by junior staff.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.
In this role, you will:
Role holders will carry out activities which will include most of the below:
• Support colleagues in the overall objective in managing and developing products.
• Lead the planning and development of new products as well as implementation and delivery, including but no limited to proposition development, pricing, system, training, service, communication and promotion.
• Lead product management initiatives, including regular product performance monitoring and analysis, product management tool establishment, product relating regulatory reporting.
• Participate in group product management projects and coordinate internal stakeholders across functions.
The role holder may need to hold specific certificates or hold membership of a regulatory body.
RequirementsTo be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
Knowledge
lUnderstand the market, business model and business performance
lGood leadership, planning, analytical, problem solving, decision making skills
lGood technical skill, product knowledge and business sense
Experience
lOver 5 years relevant experience in financial services, particularly life insurance/ wealth management products retailing to mass affluent or high net worth
lProven experience of Insurance/ Retail Wealth product implementation and product management
lHighly effective communication and interpersonal skills, with excellent relationship building and senior stakeholder management skills
lHigh levels of energy and enthusiasm, with the ability to influence, engage and lead in a positive and inspiring manner
Qualification
lUniversity degree in relevant discipline
lActuarial background is much preferred
