Commercial Banking (CMB)

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team. In this role, you will:

1. Origination of Corporate & Structured Finance Transactions
- Originate, structure and manage structured finance transactions for corporate customers both onshore and offshore.
- Maintain active dialogue with key customers under coverage and proactively propose financing solutions for their onshore and offshore operations.
- Take a proactive role in originating credit transactions independent of the Relationship Manager
- Manage the end-to-end transaction execution including Term Sheet Negotiation, Pitching, Credit Write-up, Credit Approval, Loan Documentation & Drawdown.
- Act as a single point of contact for all complex and structure financing deals for our corporate customers.
- Maintain active dialogue with key Private Equity/ Venture Capital funds and originate leveraged or other sponsored backed transactions.
- Engage all products areas (LAF, RASF, CMBO, IBCN, Sector, SEF) to keep abreast of the latest market developments and originate credit solutions for corporate customers.
- Propose new areas of developments (product or sectors) and keep abreast of new market trends and future business opportunities for the bank.
- In addition to deal origination, engage in strategic discussions with customers and build a string Advisory / M&A/ IPO pipeline for CMBO/ IB colleagues to follow up on.

2. Leadership 
- Manage a team of analysts to deliver credit solutions to our customers and assist in the origination, structuring and execution of structured finance transactions.
- Train a team of credit analysts to deliver best in class solutions for our customers, improve credit standards and manage the credit risk associated with these transactions.
- Engage with a broad set of internal and external stakeholders (clients, business association, compliance, legal, risk) to deliver at pace and challenge the status quo

3. Risk Management
- Take the lead in building deep subject matter expertise in at least one product or sector including an understanding of the regulatory landscape, shifting business needs and future business opportunities and risks.
- Proactively engage with WCRM on latest market trends and customer needs. 

Requirements To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

Knowledge
- Sophisticated understanding of the financial and commercial drivers key to strategic decision making
- Sophisticated understanding of transaction structuring and execution.
- Sophisticated understanding of corporate and structured credit.
- Strong appreciation of all areas of risk management and processes
- Awareness of the changing economic, social and regulatory environment

Experience
- Proven track record in a client focused environment, especially in business origination.
- Proven track record in pushing the boundaries in terms of credit solutions/ credit appetite and sectors explored.
- Experience and relationships in the local PE/VC/FS environment in China
- Experience of leading directly or indirectly a diverse team to deliver solutions to customers. 
- Proven experience in identifying and managing the risks, issues and dependencies related to complex projects
