The Role
The ADM Finance team is seeking a Business Unit (BU) Controller for our China Ag Services and Oilseeds business based in Shanghai, China. As part of ADM’s finance team, you will play a vital role in providing the Ag Services and Oilseeds China team with high quality general accounting and close, performance management reporting and internal control services. This position offers the opportunity to work within a strong cross-functional team environment and bring proven accounting and controlling expertise to support colleagues in the commercial, operations and support areas to achieve enterprise and business unit objectives.
Your Responsibilities Oversight of monthly financial close process and presentation and review of results with senior BU leaders. Ensure design of and monitor effective operation of strong internal control environment, with a particular emphasis on key financial controls for SOX. Oversee finance services provided to AS&O by the Company’s Global Business Services organization (GBS) and ensure accurate financial documents are produced. Partner and collaborate with other BU finance, commercial and operations colleagues. Ensure compliance and adherence to ADM policies and procedures Monitor business exposure – counterparty, credit, forex and market risk Design, draft and implement local policies and procedure, where applicable Proactive participation in the business IT application systems (Ultra) development and implementation, supporting business needs Support SOX audit and refresh narratives and documentation across various functions Support the business with Special Projects as needed (, new business growth)
Your Profile Degree in Finance, Accounting or related professional qualifications 7-10 years commodity accounting experience. Public accounting and local tax experience a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Strong English (verbal and written) language skill Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment Working knowledge of Microsoft programs, PowerBI a plus Deep understanding of US GAAP and internal controls Ability to think strategically Proven leadership skills Ability to work on cross functional teams in an effective manner, supporting diversity, equity and inclusion values
