The Impact You'll MakeAs a Field Service Engineer at Lam Research, you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational excellence of our complex semiconductor equipment. You will be on the front lines, understanding customer needs and collaborating with various teams to deliver solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations.
What You'll Do- Provide quality on-site repair, maintenance service, and complete installation/relocation start-up services of Lam's complex electro-mechanical and electronic systems at customer sites.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, conduct diagnostics, isolate issues, and solve problems across a broad range of Lam products to the component level to minimize downtime, system interruptions, and equipment malfunctions.
- Keep up to date on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through learning, training, and certification.
- Perform field modifications and updates, maintaining records and reports to coordinate activities between Lam and the customer.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, representing Lam to our valued customers, delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Partner directly with customer at a management and engineer levels, run customer meetings, measure customer trust, and lead improvement programs.
- Transparently discuss opportunities and challenges with customer to increase trust.
- Provide technical instruction, leadership, and mentoring for more junior engineers.
- Coach and delegate to more junior employees to ensure project completion on time.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 8 years of experience in installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment.
The successful candidate will be proficient in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals, and able to work in a clean room environment while wearing personal protective safety equipment. They will also be able to travel frequently, domestically and internationally, based on customer needs.
