Logistics Manager for China Operations

Job Description

This role is responsible for leading the China Distribution Team to execute the primary activity of Order fulfillment by providing external and internal clients with ordered products on time, complete, and using efficient and effective processes and distribution methods.

As a key member of the Waters Corporation, you will be responsible for managing a team of seven employees across Warehouse Operations, Trade Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain coordination & Planning/Buying, and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the China Distribution Team to execute Order fulfillment.
  • Manage a team of seven employees across various functions.
  • Maintain and develop the workforce of the China DC in line with company services and processes.
  • Manage inbound and outbound flows from the DC, day-to-day warehouse operations, and minimize freight costs.
  • Build and own strong relationships with 3rd party warehouse and logistic vendors.
  • Actively manage inventory working with Global Planning.
  • Create annual operating plans and ensure warehousing & logistics costs are in line with those plans.
  • Liaise with finance to analyze cost variance and prepare forecasts.
  • Work seamlessly with Greater China WD team and participate in S&OP.
  • Maintain compliance standards for quality, trade/customs, and IVD products.
  • Engage in advancement & adoption of SAP and other tools.
  • Track and communicate impact of external developments in China.
  • Identify and lead Continuous Improvement projects using Lean methodologies.
  • Expand and modernize Waters global distribution and logistics capabilities in China.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or business.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in supply chain, distribution, logistics.
  • Experience in a managerial role with a logistics service provider or manufacturing company.
  • People leader who leads by example.
  • Self-starter, responsible, reliable, self-motivated.
  • Ability to handle data and perform analyses.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with financial processes and ERP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
