Job Description:

Maersk is seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to join our team in Shanghai. As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality of structural and mechanical fabrication, installation, assembly, erection, and alignment of cranes and other terminal or heavy industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onsite inspections to ensure compliance with project technical specifications and industry standards.
  • Act as the Quality Assurance Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for specific projects as needed.
  • Assist in finalizing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for assigned projects.
  • Monitor and report non-conformances and ensure quality inspections are conducted according to ITPs.
  • Prepare and submit inspection results and records in a timely manner.
  • Engage with manufacturers and terminals to discuss and resolve quality issues.
  • Collaborate with APMT Asset Engineering to address design-related issues.
  • Perform other related activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in quality inspection within the crane manufacturing industry.
  • AWS CWI certification and experience with crane third-party inspection companies or manufacturing companies are highly valued.
  • Proficient in MS Office and other applications required by the business.

Work Environment:

The Quality Inspector will be stationed at the manufacturers' facilities and may be required to work at suppliers' and/or terminal sites both within and outside China.
