Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural and Mechanical Quality Inspector to join our team at Maersk. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality of structural and mechanical fabrication, installation, assembly, and alignment of cranes and heavy industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onsite structural and mechanical inspections to ensure compliance with project technical specifications and industry standards.
  • Act as the Quality Assurance Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for specific projects as needed.
  • Assist the Head of Quality Assurance in finalizing the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) for assigned projects.
  • Monitor and report any non-conformances or major deviations from contract, specification, design, or standards.
  • Prepare and submit inspection results and records to the Quality Assurance SPOC in a timely manner.
  • Engage with manufacturers and terminals to discuss and resolve quality issues related to equipment manufacturing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in quality inspection within the crane manufacturing industry.
  • AWS CWI certification (American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector) is required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of structural and mechanical engineering principles, especially as they apply to crane manufacturing.

Working Environment:

  • The primary work location will be Sany Heavy Industry in Zhuhai, China.
  • International business travel may be required to work at suppliers' and/or terminal sites.

Language Skills:

  • English language proficiency is required, with the ability to communicate in writing and to read technical documentation.
