Key Responsibilities

As a member of the IT team, you will collaborate with business units across Umicore and engage with the Information Systems department at both global and local levels.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in SAP Production Planning and Quality Management, focusing on both functional and configuration aspects.
  • Participate in SAP implementation and enhancement initiatives within Umicore.
  • Evaluate existing processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Serve as the regional template custodian during projects, ensuring adherence to established templates while contributing to their evolution based on insights gained from rollout experiences.
  • Assist key users in transitioning legacy data to the new system.
  • Ensure compliance with established rules and data integrity.
  • Identify and propose solutions for any identified gaps.
  • Provide essential training to key users for effective application usage.
  • Support key users in system testing and acceptance processes.
  • Manage system authorizations to safeguard sensitive data and processes.
  • Keep project managers updated on progress and any challenges encountered.
  • Conduct functional testing as required.
  • Offer expertise to the SAP Support team as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Business Applications Team and Team Lead based in Belgium.

Candidate Profile

Education:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent experience in IT technology is required. A native Chinese speaker is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of SAP Production Planning and Quality Management, both functionally and technically, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with S4 HANA projects is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience, including at least 3 full-cycle implementation projects.
  • Experience working as both an external and internal consultant.

Language Proficiency:

  • Strong command of English is required.
  • Proficiency in Cantonese is advantageous.

Managerial Skills:

  • Ability to design solutions, analyze business processes, and translate functional descriptions into technical specifications.
  • Develop business cases to prioritize actions in alignment with group policies and IT strategies.
  • Experience working in an international and multicultural environment, managing diverse priorities.
  • Adapt to changes in methodologies, processes, and tools.
  • Plan project actions while remaining flexible to shifting priorities.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
