Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

This position is tasked with the development and execution of comprehensive Chemical Substance Management initiatives throughout the APAC region, with a particular focus on China. You will be instrumental in ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and facilitating necessary chemical substance registrations and notifications. Your role may also encompass advocacy for chemical substance management to support regional business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for compliance and chemical registration activities in China.
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of regional Chemical Management strategies for APAC, aligned with global best practices and in coordination with the Chemical Management Team.
  • Organize and maintain chemical management documentation, certificates, and permits for product and chemical registration/notification to ensure regulatory compliance, guaranteeing timely and precise submissions.
  • Monitor regional chemical regulations and conduct impact assessments in close collaboration with the Product Stewardship team and relevant commercial functions.
  • Promote responsible chemical substance management practices in the region through active involvement in industry associations and regulatory discussions.
  • Design and deliver training programs on product stewardship initiatives and best practices for both internal and external stakeholders as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry, polymer science, material science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in product stewardship and/or regulatory affairs.
  • Proficient in English and Chinese communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Japanese or Korean is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with regulatory tracking and impact assessment processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management, documentation, and tracking.
  • Good understanding of chemical inventory management systems (e.g., IECSC/TCSI/PICCS/AIIC) and regulatory requirements for various notifications.
  • Experience with SAP EHS is preferred.
  • High ethical standards and a strong commitment to regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to engage positively and constructively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Capable of working independently, demonstrating excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Proven ability to establish effective relationships and communicate information clearly with internal and external parties.
