About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Public Affairs Manager to join our team at Abbott. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a critical role in supporting the execution of corporate communications, including crafting press releases and pitch media to drive impactful and integrated storytelling.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support businesses with understanding communications needs and develop integrated communications plans to generate compelling stories and build product and brand competitiveness.
  • Build and manage media relations to drive positive media coverage and support employee communications to drive employee pride and advocacy.
  • Manage agencies to bring value and effective results, and support in communication plan development and execution of reputation building and stakeholder management programs and campaigns in China.
  • Own sound media relationships and continuously develop and manage them with the changing environment, and proactively manage issues and crisis to protect reputation.
  • Support owned social channels content and review, and manage PR/event/digital agencies for effective delivery on an ongoing basis.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of public relations/media experience, healthcare industry preferred.
  • Solid communications planning skills and strong social/digital media sense to drive omni-channel communications.
  • Experience in managing different scale, multi-stakeholder communications campaigns and reputation management, media strategy, issues management.
  • Experience in managing PR/event agencies and strong writing skills with a core understanding and experience with media.
  • Professional level of English, both written and verbal.

  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal - with the ability to present ideas in a clear and concise way.
  • Attention to details and results driven, with excellent team player skills and ability to motivate and influence for resources.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills, excellent administrative skills to ensure the keeping of accurate records and meaningful information for reporting and evaluation.
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative, meet deadlines, multi-task and work well under pressure, with experience working in a matrix environment, organized and efficient planner.
  • Experience with content management systems, digital assets systems and other tools to manage and generate content across multiple channels.
