As a Vendor Consultant, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing strategies for managing key performance metrics for our vendors.

The Career Opportunity

You will work collaboratively with leaders from various teams and be responsible for specific aspects of vendor management within Amazon.

Engage directly with multiple internal teams to optimize business outcomes for key manufacturers on our platform.

Your responsibilities will include conceiving, creating, and analyzing diverse data sets to enhance vendor supply chain efficiency, drive traffic, improve customer conversion rates, and increase revenue.

Additionally, you will examine both strategic and operational facets of vendor relationships, conducting root cause analyses to identify issues and opportunities impacting their business.

Your primary focus will be on managing customer relationships with our vendors effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively assess business performance metrics to identify and implement improvement actions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and partner teams to achieve shared objectives.
  • Work alongside the Retail Team to advocate for vendor needs within Amazon.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans focused on relevant metrics for vendors and Amazon.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to enhance operational aspects of their business, ensuring an exceptional consumer experience.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of issues faced by vendors and formulate data-driven recommendations and action plans to enhance vendor experiences.
  • Provide strategic insights regarding planning, roadmaps, and execution.
  • Establish long-term partnerships with key vendor partners.
  • Support the introduction of new programs, categories, and features.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with vendors, emphasizing performance metrics and developing action plans.
  • Influence metrics by understanding them and creating realistic forecasts, taking calculated risks, and responding swiftly with new action plans.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent business qualification.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in Japanese; proficient written skills in English.
  • Strong presentation abilities, with a logical and concise expression of ideas. Demonstrated active listening skills, highly consultative and solution-oriented.
  • Data analysis expertise – capable of collecting, cleaning, interpreting, and challenging data to provide actionable solutions.
  • Influencing skills – ability to understand metrics and create realistic forecasts; negotiation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment while maintaining full accountability for achieving business objectives.
  • Innovative thinking – capable of developing original ideas and solutions for typical, unusual, or complex challenges.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word) and Content Management Systems; quick to learn new tools and systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in vendor management, sales, post-sales, account management, or business development in a B2B context.
  • Familiarity with SQL and Python is a plus.
